My love for filmmaking started in Sacramento, California. I lived near a river that flowed through the city, and I was surrounded by giant trees that told seasonal stories through the vibrant color of the leaves. My introduction to visual storytelling started at home. My favorite thing to do was watch home videos. I’d watch some of my oldest memories on a screen, which at the time seemed impossible. I would interact with these videos as if the television screen were responding to my actions. Since then, filmmaking has become a tool I use to capture and visualize moments that have a lasting impression on my development.
Every film I’ve made comes from a core experience. These moments help me understand how important it is to live with a purpose. Being aware of my connection to the stories I tell is important because filmmaking has the power to bring ideas to life. No matter the content, it’s a responsibility that requires refinement and patience. My style of filmmaking has been crafted by adaptation, and my goal is to create a moment that lasts a lifetime.
